Part C…

Sometimes in America we have to do what is right and not what is easy. We could always take shortcuts to save us some money here or there but at the end of the day America must always look forward and invest for our future. We can always say that no side of any argument is perfect and you would be correct. With this in mind any alternative that has the major population in consideration is the right action

Re-building America- Final Project

In every aspect of life, nothing is free. For an example in Economics “There’s no such thing as a free lunch,’’ or in Democracy “Freedom is not free.” These are both examples of an American ideal of what is expected from our culture.  It is said that if you work hard in life, and are an honest person, great things will come to you because that’s the way a capitalistic and democratic society functions. Well, as of lately I have noticed a trend in which people want to benefit from the greatest country in the world without having to make sacrifices to obtain it.  Just like the environment, we as human beings must adapt to a changing world economy and social structure.  Today we don’t have to look far to see counties that are suffering from aspects of famine and, social injustices. We as American’s feel the moral obligation to help those who are in need but, do not want to have to pay for it. I don’t think that every American takes the time to think of what it really takes to build such an industrialized and advanced country.  The one thing that we have that those other countries don’t is an established governing and overseeing style government.  This is the very foundation on which our country was founded and, it is called progressive thinking.  Progressive Thinking also known as Liberalism, which requires those who benefit the most from a society, to contribute more for the cause. (You get what you shall receive) This is why we have taxes. In some public opinion, taxes are view at as a dirty word. When in turn, they can be very helpful to an economy.  In America we have a very developed transportation system, which requires keeping up. So this begs the question, who should have to pay for the roads and other transportation systems. We do because we benefit from it and, use it almost every day. Just like the economy, people who benefit the most from our capitalistic style economy should have to contribute the most.  This contribution will in turn help those who have been less fortunate with benefiting from the economy. The opposition to this point will say that taxing is a form of punishment to those who are making the most money because it puts them in a situation where they will be afraid to make even more and, it is not healthy for our economy. Well, the exact opposite is true. Our economy is divided into three main parts. These parts are the following: consumer spending (2/3rd of nations economy), imports and exports (1/3rd) and, government spending (1/3rd). If any of these three are taking a hit, the economy will start to struggle. This also includes government spending. In order for the government to spend money it needs to receive it from somewhere because the government operates just like a business. That way is through taxes. Without taxes the government is unable to provide services like police, fire, and, schools. So next time you here a politician or news station claiming that the path for America is through lower taxes, make sure you ask them how they will then be able to afford your everyday freedoms that you love and enjoy

“Tell All” Books

Looking back at my life I have come to the conclusion that I am one of the most misunderstood persons of all time. Sometimes I say things that mean one thing and people blow it completely out of context and twist my words to make it sound like I meant something else. For example…the other day I was on the record saying that I hated baby seals and all they are good for is water-proof shoe leather….well what I really meant to say is that we should re-evaluate what part the baby seals population  plays in our economic development. So…to set the record strait I have written a “Tell all Book” to explain my very complicated lifestyle and to clear the air about some personal issues. Plus this way I dont have to address or be responsible for what I say about people inside my book because thats the way writers are. Before you read any further…you can most likley figure out that this entry is completely ridiculious….but not entirely un-true just try reading Miss Palin’s new book….if this is no the fall of modern day society in not sure what is. Some people said that 2012 was the end to life well i know for sure that today is that day.

Why?

In the spirit of the holidays just around the corner, it made me think why do we really celebrate these few days of the year. Well take for example Easter. We all know the history why Easter is celebrated in the Christian community, but in America you do not need to be Christian to enjoy this holiday. Easter is now a day in which an overgrown rabbit trespasses onto your family’s property and leaves little plastic eggs filled with sugary tooth decaying snacks. In fact some people celebrate the day after because they know that all the candy goes on sale the day after. Christmas for most people now starts in September and continues all the way until January. Christmas is waiting in a supper long line at a department store to purchase gifts that are way out of for budget and the only reason why you bought it is because your Aunt Bertha purchased you a equally crappy gift and you want to return the favor. Not only that but you have to spend all these joy filled days with the family you don’t hardly ever talk to or want to talk to due to family drama or strife or even they smell funny…..remeber people the holidays have deeper meaning, try to find yours.

The Finance Committee Passes Health Care Spending?

Today a panel of 13 Democrats and 10 Republicans approved a budget that would allow the senate to pass a bill that address health care reform. The vote that they took had little to no relevance to the public option or a single payer system that 63% of Americans want. The part that baffles me is, all but one Republican voted against the bill that they helped co-write just weeks before this vote. This brings up the question….WHAT THE HELL! This health care debate has become so clouded with mudslinging and “propaganda” that the senators themselves have no idea what they are even voting on. This current budget just goes to show you the stance that both conservative and liberals have taken together on health care in the past 50 years….that in America you have the right to speak you mind without prosecution, you have the right to an attorney when you get into a bind, you have a right for your family never to go hungry, and you have the right to die for your country because you could not afford health care….Wake Up America!!!

What’s up with South Carolina Sen?

If anybody watched the President Obama speech last night, you saw the South Carolina Sen.(Joe wilson) shout out “You Lie” at Mr. Obama. I thought that Congress was supposed to be dignified no matter how much they dissagree with the speekers opinion. Joe wilson is know in his home state for running on standards of high morals, and personal responsibility. It’s good to see that Joe wants to move Congress in the direction of shouting and finger pointing. Why stop there. Next time, dont be affraid to charge the mound like a ragging bull or a batter that has just been beamed by pitcher.
